In the past we have tried to keep in touch with folks via Facebook while on our travels, but found that not only was it an awkward way to share photos and places, but also that many of our friends are not Facebook fans. So here is our attempt to have a better, more interactive place to share our experiences. We hope you enjoy it. Let us know in the comments!

After returning from the grand expedition to the Indian Ocean and Africa, we headed out west to escape the brutal winter we have been having.
In December 2025 we spent Christmas in southern France with Christian’s family.

Then we were off on an adventure to the Indian Ocean and Africa (see the map below)! First we flew from Paris to the island of Mauritius which is east of Madagascar. After spending New Year’s there, we boarded our small (680 people) cruise ship the Azamara Journey for a trip around Madagascar, stopping in Madagascar, Mayotte, Zanzibar, Mombasa, and the Seychelles, ending back in Mauritius. From there we flew to Nairobi and embarked on a safari to three different locations in Kenya and Tanzania. After the safari we flew from Nairobi to Qatar (on January 31st), Qatar to Paris and then back to Boston. I posted about the trip under the Posts tab in the menu above.

While we were gone our third partner in crime, Beau went back in the show ring with his handler Amanda Shea. He started out with nine of his needed 15 points for his championship, and has one major. He got another point while we were gone.

In 2024 we traveled from our home in Gloucester, Massachusetts to Lima, Peru (without our pup) where we spent a few days before boarding a small cruise ship for a 27-day voyage. We visited Easter Island, Pitcairn Island, French Polynesia, and ended in New Zealand, where we spent a few days before the journey home via Auckland and Los Angeles to Boston. I did a number of posts from the trip, please see the posts page.

While we were gone Beau was on his own adventure, going to dog show boot camp! He’s been doing very well despite his wonderful rambunctious puppy-tude! He has already received his first points towards his championship 🙂
The original plan was that after we returned, we were going to take the Beast on the road down to the Florida Keys. However, in LAX on our way back, my less-than-a-year-old knee revision dislocated! I am scheduled for surgery to have it replaced for the third time. If all goes well, we’ll head south with the Beast in April for a bit to get warm.
In 2023 we embarked on a grand road trip from Massachusetts to Alaska covering over 13,000 miles in our motorhome affectionately (most of the time) called the Beast.
